I'm a 45-year-old dad, husband, ICU nurse and fitness nut! I was on a path of destruction with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and I was overweight. I needed to change or I was going to follow my family's history of cardiovascular disease at an early age. I found something that works for me and I'm ready to pay it forward and help others better live healthier lives. The feeling you will get is truly infectious! Thanks for being here!

How To Store An N-95 Mask

In this video, Jason Rozinka is explaining how to use an ordinary plastic storage container to store a N-95 mask for reuse. As indicated on the label, ideally the N-95 mask is supposed to be used and discarded after one patient use, but during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 a global shortage has forced us to reuse these masks to try to offer health care workers more protection than using a regul...

Good info/ same here I gained 5lbs over 4 weeks
I started working out at 99kgs only to end up 104kgs in 2 weeks
I ve been working out for 10 months now hard gym work out and great diet but i only went from 138 kg to 116 kg and now my weight is getting more idk why
You probably lost body fat first and now youre gaining muscle
Bro im so confused somone plz help i started weight loss about a year ago i dropped 35 pounds in around 6 months and ive continued work out since then im starting to regain all the weight even though i work out or have basketball practice everyday I also dont think ive been eating that much definitely not in a deficit but also not in a surplus
I am 33 and worked night shift for 2 years and I started having blood sugar issues(Not diabetes), severe insomnia and the biggest change was a loss of libido/ED. Before night shift work, I had rock hard erections on demand more or less. I am looking to get out of this shift pattern asap now
I am here because I am on my second week of cardio to lose fat and weight, I ended up gaining more weight hahahahahaha One pound in just one week hahahahahah 1 1/2 hours cardio 😂😂😂😂
How is your nutrition? Are you mixing in weight training?
@@JasonRozinka lose weight and burn fat exercises plus I am on intermitted diet. Still gained weight hahahahahaha
Started working out and gained 2 pounds instead of losing any. Was so bereft, gym trainer actually told me to eat more and gave me a diet plan.
This is what is killing me 😩.
Nightshift can be peacefully working during the quiet hours but the negatives far out weigh the positives. Really dislike the 3rd shift with a burning passion. My body has been gradually slowing down and noticing a lot of imbalances. I have a schedule with the doctor in a week to see how I'm doing health wise. Hope to god its nothing too serious.
Been getting fatter after going to the gym for 3 weeks. Cut down calories, increased water intake, and my gut and chest has gotten fatter. I am very stressed trying to lose weight. Also, this is my first time trying to lose weight in a healthy way. Usually I use toxic methods of dropping weight fast. I lost muscle doing that too. What's weird is my face is toning along with my legs and arms. But my midsection is resembling Humpty Dumpty. 🤔 Also the bulges alternate within a day. One night while in bed, I can feel my hip bones. The next afternoon, pudgy without any sign of my hip bone. 😟 It's gotta be water weight then, right? My doc says fat doesn't form and disappear like that. I just don't know. 🥺 I've contemplated going back to the toxic way of losing weight. But I'm trying to beat that awful compulsion. 😖 I know 3 weeks isn't squat. But my legs and booty are toning nicely along with the other areas mentioned. Sigh! 🫤 Just keep doing the shakes twice a day with the one healthy meal, I guess. Plus, I get an apple after the gym. Keep slinging the water. Hopefully, my midsection will get inline with everything else. 🙏
Update?
Lack of sleep triggers an onslaught of stress hormones along with a high sodium diet. The instant gain and loss is a product of both. I have begun making myself go to bed. I put the phone away, read and eventually its morning. I had a huge sleep deficit. Mood is improving too. Exercising too much was causing inflammation too. The fluid is coming and going like a cyclical tide. Gotta work on that ebb and flow by using a rest day. Not AS horendously puffy today. 😅
I started a rather strenuous daily walking regime of 2.5-3 miles at the fastest pace I can manage, after being completely sedentary and a little _under_ weight. I have an eating disorder--not the typical body dysmorphia type, but that's another topic. Anyway, I have gained a whopping 7 lbs. in about a month, and it fluctuates a lot throughout the day. I can feel my tummy and thighs jiggling for the first time in years, I even thought I could be pregnant at 48 before finding out this gain is normal. I am told this is due to inflammation/muscle tears and water retention. I am going to start taking rest days for my muscles to repair, be more diligent about sleep and replacing electrolytes and water. This is temporary and if you are dieting the weight will reduce as your body adjusts and builds lean muscle/strength. I hope we will both stick with it, regular exercise is crucial to hormone regulation and even mental health, it's worth this adjustment period.
@@Carolina-4JC hi! How are you doing now? Did the water weight get better? I relate to what you described - I started some more strenuous bike riding about 4 weeks ago and my clothes are tighter. I feel very inflamed and swollen all over, including my legs and hips, stomach, arms, and face. I don't think this can be fat gain but it is very odd and doesn't feel very good!
@@kathrynfriedlund3280 It made a difference to take a couple or three days off per week, I’m trying to walk every other day and added another quarter mile. I haven’t weighed lately but my clothes fit again and I’m not bloated thank goodness! I feel stronger, I have a lot more energy and don’t feel the desire to sleep all the time. Thanks for asking, I hope you stick with it! I know it’s unpleasant, I had no idea what was going on which made it worse. Best wishes!
I haven’t changed anything in my diet, I gained nothing doing nothing and blew up when I started working out?
Been working out for years, I eat right, lift weights and just can't get lean to save my life. It almost got me in tears because I want to look good SMH. I might as well just give up
Stop eating sugar and carbs. Eat meat and fats. Keep carbs below 20 grams a day. Switch your body to ketosis. Sounds extreme. It’s very easy once you break your carb and sugar addiction.
…I’m really just trying to get to 120-130lbs
I think the key is to focus on how you feel not how much you weigh, I also gained 5 pounds from working out. However I feel stronger and more energized. Losing weight is a long term commitment, If you just want weight loss you should try fasting and low carb diet.
I’m already healthy started out weighing 135. Started going to the gym 2 months ago to gain muscle and have been going Monday through Friday for atleast 2 hours each night plus I walk a couple miles every morning before work. I weighed myself today and I’m 150 pounds now. I have a pretty decent diet and dont over eat or eat a lot of junk. It doesnt look like I gained 15 pounds but the scale doesn’t lie.. trying to figure out what the cause to my weight gain might be. I eat 3 meals a day plus a protein shake before the gym..
It took me 12 weeks of at home work outs to loose 5lbs! I'm talking 5 days a week, 45 minutes per session strength and cardio, along with occasionally walking in between. All this sweat and endurance just to loose 5lbs!!! The damn scale won't move! I need to loose 20lbs but I give up
did you give up
@@faruq2588 no I started the gym to see if that works
How are you now
I'm done with the scale! I just buy dresses a size smaller. Once I comfortable fit in it I know I'm losing inches.
I started lifting heavy weights and tracking my calories. At the end of the week I gained 4lbs!! I didn't look bigger but the scale really messed with me :( I was tempted to stop working out and focusing on just diet and calorie tracking until I get to my desired low weight.
Am also thinking of stopping gym because am gaining rather 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭I love gym but no way it's now four month and am still gaining
Cycle your calories. Don’t go too low 100-200max deficit from DRC. So go lower during the week 1 gallon water daily, then go back up to daily recommended calories intake on weekends. Don’t forget to drink your water. Make sure you are getting enough protein. Your body will fight you if you reduce your caloytoo much. If you are female you need to increase your calories the week before your cycle.
@@sarashepard7504 Even when I was eating at a low intake I had a higher number on the scale because of water retention from lifting heavy. I gave in and stopped all exercise for a week until the swelling went down, and it did. I lost the water weight. I think I'm going to ease my way into working out instead of lifting really heavy at the beginning to avoid this. I'm only 5'2 female so it is very noticeable a slight change in weight :(
Same problem
How are you doing now? Did you continue to lift and did the water weight disappear?
I swear I didn't know exercising can help you gain weight I thought I'd help you lose weight or put muscles on your body but never to gain weight and I always felt like why should I go to the gym if I'm already bony like a stick and I'm trying to gain weight but now I know
I always work nights security love it.
I worked 12's two weeks days two weeks nights for years. There were some benefits with the schedule but mostly it was horrible. Was always tired.
Umm I don't think this is true?? I lost weight night shift.. What's up with that? I don't get it??? Am I different?? Probably... Bad thing.. No social life!! Good more money...less micromanaging..
So. Is this true??
Like.. yesterday I had 86.6 kg and today I was working in the forest with my father for like 8-9 hours with little rests, but I mean, I sweated my ass multiple times today. As I got home now and showered, I see the scale showing 88.3 Like, how??
I am 187cm tall and before I started training I weighed 70kg after 4 months of going to the gym for 1 hour 3 times a week I now weigh 83kg.
Thank you I've been puzzled about this
I am gaining weight, about 7-10 lbs, but my shirts and pants are fitting looser, except at my lower waist and buttocks, which I assume was because of my deadlifts and squats. But, my energy is through the roof, sleep went from 9 hours and a nap to just 7 hours and no nap needed. Sex drive through the roof.
I needed this,I busted my butt yesterday at the gym hopped on the scale and gained 2 pounds, but well said I'll ignore the numbers this time lol
The muscle stores water etc so you'd gain weight if I stop weight lifting I lose 5 lbs immediately lol .....but I rather a little more weight and my muscles looking full
very informative! this is best with agoge diet. thanks!
just punched a hole in the wall after finding out i gained 10 pounds after ive been working out for a week. im 16 my mom's gonna fucking kill me
😂😭
On my 10th year of working night shift. I felt great the first 8 but in my mid 30s now I can feel it wearing on me even though I'm still sleeping the same amount of time.
Gained weight as well, but clothes seem to fit better and i seem less fat, so guess i am doing ok. Now i am going to try to cut out beer at least for a bit. See if that helps.
im trying to get 120 trying to get 130
I’m trying 😤
i started out as 186.9, and then i’m about a month i went down to 178.8. i don’t know how, but now im at 181.
“But you’re going to be a doctor someday, right? No. No I’m not, and I thank God for that fact with a healthy measure of frequency, thanks.” I have noticed that after conducting my own research at the hospital I work at, in conjunction with a couple articles about image, that many of these questions and patient assumptions go away when I wear all white with my school pin and Army Nurse Corps N caduceus pin on my lapel. For me, the white uniform is empowering and patients respond to it. Citing Cohen, 2007, no other professionals wear cartoons on their clothing and command respect. Can’t argue with reason.
I started a nigh shift about 2 months ago at cintas . I decided that I will take a week off every 3 months whether they like it or not.
Just tic toc your self into shape. I mean in the worst phase of the “pandemic” yinz still had time on any shift.
Subscribed your channel 😊 Pls make more videos on fitness thanks 🙏
Thanks for the information ☺️
I've been playing Gaelic football, Dance, Football and I work out and I've gained weight but my stomach has gotten more tense and harder and there is barely any fat which I am delighted! Just making sure it is muscle I'm gaining and not fat!!
Been working shift work since 2012. 10 years of this and I am so done, the irony is I don't have the courage to quit since I make around 160k a year and have two kids. I feel trapped and dunno what to do anymore. I am extremely irritable with everybody around me. Tired all the time it doesn't matter how much I sleep. Mood swings, less libido sad and depressed. I keep telling myself to be grateful but it is literally killing me slowly
I have been almost 1 year working nightshift 50 hours a week from 9pm to 6am, also I'm taking 3 college classes and try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week and every month I have to go to Army Drill...it has not been easy, although, I like my crew, it's hard to manage your time and a healthy nutrition in this shift. When I go to the gym before night shift, next day I feel beat up, before going to college. Honestly, I can't wait to go back to day or afternoon shift.
Exercising and not losing need pointers
Maple chicken salad
Thank you 🙏🏼
I been in the gym for a month and 2 weeks, Ive actually gained 10lbs since. Its so discouraging
I was 184 when I started to get back into working out, and I stepped on the scale I was 191. I was so shocked since I didn’t feel different, if anything I felt like my muscles were way more defined..
This is me at the same weight..🤧
Exact same thing, some weight and everything
Same! I was fitting into my clothes better, I looked leaner, felt stronger yet weighed more on the scale. It completely messed with my head.
